September, 2007 Newsletter
Summer's Almost Over...
...and it feels like we're just getting warmed up at the Humane Society! In just 7 months, we managed to do more surgeries than we did all last year! Help us keep the momentum going by sponsoring a surgery!
Remember Rocky? Yeah, we finally adopted him to a great home. He may have been just one dog, but he's still proof that animal cruelty doesn't stand a chance when we, as a community, put our resources behind it.
So, what's next for the Humane Society? Keep reading...
Enter Urban Cats
The HSPCA is proud to announce the formation of a new program designed to address feral cats through advocacy and through practical application of Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). We call it Urban Cats...
Urban Cats has formed as a coalition of like minded organizations and volunteers under the umbrella of the HSPCA to introduce TNR to our area's policy makers and to change those existing practices that have proven ineffective. Want more info? Email us...
Olympic Sponsorship?!
The HSPCA is very lucky to be sponsored by Laci Stapp, an Olympic figure skating hopeful and avid animal welfare supporter. Laci and her team approached the HSPCA to offer support in both fundraising and in helping generate awareness about animal welfare issues in our area. Like the HSPCA, however, Laci needs our community's support... consider a donation to help both the HSPCA and Laci!
Looking to Adopt?
Spay/neuter may help us control tomorrow's pet overpopulation issues, but what about today's problem? It's no secret that shelter pets make the best pets, and there are lots of great shelter pets out there looking for great homes. Want to find one? Check out our area's shelters.
