Special Thanks
Thanks goes out to the Animal Mission for supplying spay/neuter vouchers for Midlands area residents! Their commitment to spay/neuter amounted to thousands of surgeries at the HSPCA. We couldn't have done it without you!

All Smiles...
We're just a few days into the new year and we're all smiles about the changes to come. At the same time, however, we're very proud of our successes in 2007 (click here for our 2007 stats). Thanks to its dedicated staff, the HSPCA performed nearly 7,000 surgeries, investigated close to 1,000 complaints of animal cruelty and drove awareness campaigns such as 'Save Rocky'. In addition, we partnered with rescue organizations
to adopt out several neglected pets seized during cruelty work. Our hard work has laid the groundwork for what we hope will be a tremendous year... and that's worth smiling for!
Introducing Kelly Graham...
Kelly Graham has recently join the HSPCA as Director of Public Relations. Kelly comes to the HSPCA from Voices for South Carolina's Children where she served as director of communications. Kelly brings over 15 years experience in public relations, communications and advertising in both the non-profit and for-profit arenas. With her addition, we anticipate a substantial increase in public awareness of the HSPCA and our spay/neuter services, as well as increased outreach services designed to promote a better understanding of animal welfare in the Midlands.
Around the Corner...
Expansion and outreach are the key words for the changes that are on the horizon for the HSPCA! First and foremost, we're growing! That's right... our performance in 2007 has warranted expansion to another facility which will be ideally located for individuals living in Lexington and in the Harbison area. The new facility will feature more surgical square footage allowing for more spay/neuter patients.
In addition, we're adding a transport system to our spay/neuter clinic. Surrounding shelters, rescue groups and individuals unable to secure transport to our spay/neuter clinic will be able to leverage our transport system free of charge!
Stayed tuned for more details on these exciting developments!
