KittySnip Rules!

After the success of the Animal Mission voucher program, we decided to dabble in the whole free spay/neuter surgery thing by targeting kittens for one month.  So far... we're set to complete 253 surgeries!  And we're not even finished scheduling for new ones...

HSPCA Finds Friend in Earth Fare

The HSPCA is happy to announce that it is the Friend of Earth Fare for the month of July. That's right,... Earth Fare is lending us a hand and helping us improve our community by promoting several events to our benefit (click here for more info). So for the month of July, patrons of Earth Fare will have opportunities to donate to the Humane Society in various ways while raising awareness of animal welfare.

Earth Fare will also host Petpaloosa, an all day event located at Earth Fare, includeing a dog wash, kid 'dogs' themed crafts, a hot dog stand and much more. Best of all, 5% of all of the sales at Earth Fare that day will be donated to the HSPCA! So come out, get your dog washed, buy some great food, and help support a great organization!  Read more...

Innovative Program Comes to Midlands

If you're in South Carolina and working within animal welfare, you've probably seen the emails coming from Greenville County Animal Care Services. And, if you've looked into it, you've probably seen some of the results of their efforts. Now, the HSPCA is sponsoring a 2 hour seminar in which Greenville County Animal Care Services will present the nuts and bolts of their Humane Animal Rescue Placement Program (HARPP).

At just 9 months into their program, Greenville County Animal Care Services has saved over 1,700 animals and have cut their euthanasia rate literally in half. Want to find out how? Join the HSPCA and Greenville County Animal Care Services on July 23rd from 11:30am to 2:00pm (lunch provided) for an overview on their Humane Animal Rescue Placement Program.

Support Spay/Neuter

Neutering pets is by far one of the most important things individuals can do.  But, unlike animal cruelty, you don't often hear about it and therefore don't necessarily realize how much successful spay/neuter can impact our community.  The HSPCA spends a great deal of time and resources educating people about spay/neuter and we often need help.  Consider spreading the word about the benefits of spay/neuter and/or consider a small donation to help us keep our prices low.  Thank you!
