It's Kitten Season!

It's Kitten Season!

Have you noticed it is kitten season? We sure have! That is why the HSPCA is offering FREE spay/neuter for kittens 5 months and younger.

We are calling it our 1st annual KittySnip!

From June 16 - July 18, all kittens between 3 months and 5 months of age will be sterilzed for FREE at the HSPCA Spay/Neuter Clinic! Simply mention the KittySnip summer special when you are scheduling your appointment and we will take care of the rest.

Age of the kitten will be determined by the presence of baby teeth and/or at the discretion of the attending veterinarian. A minimum weight of 3 lbs is required for surgery. As with all spay/neuter surgeries, rabies and distemper vaccinations will be required if age appropriate.

Applications for spay/neuter can be found online at www.humanesc.org or you can fill one out at the HSPCA Clinic located at 121 Humane Lane, Columbia, SC 29209 (off of Shop Road).

That means that Earth Fare is lending us a hand and helping us improve our community by promoting several events to our benefit. So for the month of July, patrons of Earth Fare will have opportunities to donate to the Humane Society in various ways while raising awareness of animal welfare.

Horses and HSPCA still need your help...

It's been several months now since the HSPCA undertook a large scale animal cruelty case involving 45 horses and things are going well.  We've posted a brief update online and are very happy to announce that Anne McQuary of Hey Baby Smile! has published a gallery of images of several of the horses online and available for purchase.  Best of all, she's donating all of the proceeds to the HSPCA for the continued care and rehabilitation of the horses!  Want to purchase some prints and help the HSPCA?  Click here!
